What is the performance and application of ASA/PVC Co-extruded Panels?

ASA/PVC co-extruded panel is a functional plastic panel manufactured by combining ASA resin and PVC via the co-extrusion process. It inherits the performance advantages of both materials and has become a widely adopted new building material under the current trend of “wood-to-plastic substitution”.

Production Process

ASA/PVC co-extrusion employs a two-stage extrusion compounding process, with the workflow as follows:
1. ASA Modification & Pelletizing: ASA resin is compounded with additives and pigments via high-temperature and low-temperature mixing, then processed into modified ASA pellets through extrusion, haul-off, cooling, and pelletizing.
2. Co-Extrusion Molding: ASA and PVC feeds are each delivered to the same co-extrusion die via separate extruders. The resulting composite profile then undergoes calibration, cooling, haul-off, and cutting to produce the final product, forming a dual-layer structure of a dense ASA skin layer and a PVC core layer.
